I might suggest a 'biochar compost' search on Science Direct.
In general, biochar has a very high C:N ratio (minimum 100:1 usually), where the optimal compost mix is generally 15-25:1, depending on various factors. Hence, addition of biochar to a mix would be most beneficial where one might have a compost or compost feedstock that has a very very low C:N ratio (e.g. 5:1-chicken manure, etc.).

Biochar amendment has shown to reduce both N2O and NH3 emissions during livestock manure composting (see few examples below). This is encouraging, because manure composting can be an important anthropogenic source of N2O (directly or indirectly via NH3 emissions).
We know that manure composting is very promising method for reducing CH4 emissions; however, its down-side is increased N2O and NH3 emissions. Therefore, if biochar amendment can mitigate N2O and NH3 emissions during composting, then it will a huge benefit in reducing all three gases (N2O, NH3, and CH4) at the same time avoiding any adverse trade-offs from manure composting. That will make composting even more promising as a strategy for mitigating GHG emissions from manure.
