It is ridiculous situation. Student union should be consulted for this situation.
I think such thinking exists every where but about 3 to 7% average with extreme... I would like to advise as to think positive and to convince these 3 to 7% complex thinkers by staying calm and adding more values and contribution to the human developments, services and good deeds.
By assuming that the speaker is uneducated - and going to another room.

J'éprouve plutôt de la pitié pour celui ou celle qui fait preuve de ses limites en proférant de telles énormités.
C'est tout simplement un soucis d'éducation.
I haven't experienced such kind of discrimination. But, if I were in another country and encounter such rudeness, I have to defend myself by saying that my inability to speak fluently or at least, understandable English does not reduce my dignity. How lucky are those people whose first language is English. On the contrary, how unlucky they are because they don't speak my language or any other one. These discriminating people should be "educated" to behave reasonably by understanding cultural differences, which include language. English is the second language in my country, and it's a significant advantage because we can communicate with them through the only language they can speak. Nowadays, because of World Englishes, we shouldn't be shy to converse using the English that we know. Each non-English speaking country has its version of English with unique features. Speak your version and attempt to communicate. Although it may be dangerous not to use "standard" English because of cultural content and implications, it shouldn't be an impediment to express your thoughts and impressions.
Don't be worry about them and work to transfer your knowledge to your community
