I wonder whether there is any simple model to predict the moduli of miscible, or at least technically compatible polymer blends or copolymers vs. composition, where a single Tg is observed? The dependence of Tg on composition is widely studied, and several formulas were suggested to desicribe this dependence (the simplest one in the Fox equation). I do not remember to have seen similar formulas for the glassy or rubbery modulus. The rubbery modulus can be well measured only if the system is crosslinked, so for a valid comparison the same crosslink density should be used. In the glassy state no crosslinker is needed but there is a larges scatter in the data. I would appreciate your comments.
If both the componenet are in the rubbery or the glassy state, we might use the simple mixing rules (P= content of component 1 x P1 + content of component 2 x P2； or 1/P= content of component 1 / P1 + content of component 2 / P2). Any formulas for extimation of moduluds of blends or copolymers are empirical.
Yes, the linear, the inverse and the Takayanagi formula mixture formulas are available for any two-component systems, the first tow are the bounds, the last one is intermediate, but these have nothing to do with the molecular structure.
