Dear Colleagues, if powders with different diameters and chemical natrue are mixed/milled in either dry or wet states the smaller powders may agglomerate on the surface of the larger particles forming a more or less stable layer (or patches) - resulting a measurable change in the particle siue distribution. Intuitively one would expect the following influencing factors: the size of the two components, the agglomeration tendency of the smaller particles, the adhesion between the two materials, the viscosity of the medium, the intensity and duration of the mixing process. Can anyone suggest good literature on these phenomena? Being a polymer chemist, it is easier for me the learn from the specialists.
