The Fractal Catalytic Model provides analytic and empirical evidence that life is a fundamental physical process. Within the context of the theory the emergence of intelligent opportunistic species (or meta-catalysts) places emphasis upon the complexity of the environment rather than purely upon chance and natural selection.

From this perspective it is possible to speculate that the problems that we face today may have been faced many thousands (perhaps millions) of times before by meta-species other than ourselves - and overcome! Can we use such hypothetical speculation to focus our thinking with respect to the problems that we face today?
