i need to develop model for drought area.
Study area situated 80 km east for sahyadri ghat. Study area (Parner plateau) coming under rain shadow zone & annual rain fall under 50 cm & it is plateau area is under drought prone area .
In sahyadri ghat there is Pimpalgaon joga dam from this Dam has several canals coming toward Parner plateau & provided the water facility for plateau bottom Agricultural area. Parner plateau has been surrounded by canals
I need to develop model using GIS & Remote sensing for how we can do planning to lift the Water coming from canal’s & provide to upper part of Parner plateau area.
Scope Of Study.
1. Model for Lift irrigation to agriculture Parner plateau area.
2. Model of distribution of water on Parner plateau.
Have you done the land use land cover classification, first try to access the annual water needs i mean water budgeting then prioritize the areas u can use Multi -criteria analysis. use AHP extension. then by the network analysis u can model the flow from the canals.

First of all, you need to analyze the topography of the area. In other words, you need a contour map or a precise digital elevation model (DEM). Several products can be derived from the DEM such as the vector flow directions or the slope map, which is very helpful in bringing an intuitive understanding of your area. You can Sufer software to derive this product. Also you need to analyze the morphology of your project area. This morphology can be captured indirectly from the underlying drainage system of your project area. You can the ArcHydro (ArcGIS product) or any other similar software to do the hydrological analysis. In particular, the boundary of the catchment areas are carrying very interesting information about the ridges in your project area. Along these ridges, a best route can be found in order to be used as a main channel. Hopefully you may find some help in this short answer
