Modern Physics can't give us a simple picture of the atoms. Please read my paper on He-2-4 to understand the Geometry of the nucleus, which is the mother nucleus for rest of nuclei's along with Father H. It is most Symmetric, most Abundant, most Stable and also satisfies Quark, QCD, Yukawa's unit of strength of 200 Electrons Mass (actually 206), Nature's Packing of Spheres for inner layer and Thompson Problem for outer layer.
It also satisfies the Equi Partition Theorem and the Principle of Reuse/Recycle by Nature, which Modern Physics does not use. It uses Muon and Anti Muon as building blocks.
It proposes uses of a Space Field which can be called Dark Energy, Higgs Field, Ether, Prana or Chi.
It uses Equivalence Energy Principle to see how much Electro Static Energy will be required to hold the cluster of 12 Nodes and 6 Nodes in next layer. There are two ways the mass of the nucleus is calculated to the accuracy of 99%. In complex calculations, we match results up to 4 digits!
It also demonstrates the Gravity at works at this fundamental level but the paper will come later.
It also explains why Noble Gases are stable besides the outer 8 electrons but He-2-4 has only 2? It is because the nucleus is stable and when the Nucleus is not stable, the Weak Force decay happens.
Actually the calculations will match any "n" positions. Interestingly I saw 3 Rings in your paper which is close to my thought process. Reading your paper.

Atomic nuclei are very tiny crystalloids of A mass particles and Z charged particles. This results from analysis of decays and interactions of particles and nuclei. This particles are the well-known light mesons. It is entirely consistent with the observation that atomic nuclei have a well defined surface. The binding energy, the cross section and many other properties are dependent on the completeness of the crystal structure.
Nucleus 2-he-4 has a very symmetrical tetrahedrally structure (nuclear binding energy ≈ 28MeV), the nucleus 2-he-3 an comparatively unfavourable structure( ≈ 7,7MeV).
The very symmetrically and stable nucleus 6-c-12 (icosahedrically) has a very small cross section, the incomplete nucleus 5-b-11 has a very large cross section as you know.

Yor thoughts are interesting. But it is questionable to declare the reality on an theoretically-mathematically way. We reach merely parallels.

Hans, How can so many odds match up? So many twisted turns match up? So many stars align? Any measurement suffers from Stroboscopic Effects and is Statistical.
Hans just started reading your paper. Your observation on Positron + Electron collision emanating same set of particles as from collisions of heavy nuclei only confirms my theory.
In 2008, I concluded that Electron and Positron are nothing but Photon caught up in an Space-Time 3D Vortex without breaking any experiments in Physics except MM.
Did you miss showing collision of positron and electron giving rise to 2 Photons?
Physics does not understand the Stack or Physical Processes that make up the Reality from Nothing or Vacuum of Space.
They still suffer from the same issues which led to Geo Centric view of the Cosmos.
I never liked the Zoo of Particles in the SM and I knew they are going against the Reality, Liking your paper, as it is very logical so far. But I hope you also focus on Nothingness to Something aspect and the the Physical Processes involved.
@Sunil: There is absolute no reason to follow the old theories which are inventing additional particles to declare the real particles. This is pseudoscience and shows how little the theoreticians of the old school have understand about the nature of particles what means the nature of matter. Maybe I will come back to your question.

Why you did not tackle Neutrino in the Neutron decay? You have not tackled Spin clearly.
N and P are not fundamental particles. And 2N and 2P will lead to Tetrahedron Model for He-2-4. The Binding Energy suffers from same fate as we accounting 2-3% of Total Energy in Universe in our Physics.
Quarks are basically lower units of instability in Collisions and fractional. Weak Force units are more stable compared to collision related instability. We do not quantify what is the nature of Released Energy?
Matter accredit ion happened in not Collision like fashions though they paint some picture in "opposition".
My He-2-4 Model has Octohedron in outer model and Cubcitohedron in inner layer. It not only satisfies Packing and Thomas Problems, it shows how quarks can be fractional.
Then you do not explain what is the Gluon Force and its relationship with Gravity. Both are related and they go back to fundamental Space Field.
Exited states of atoms/particles are resulting from accumulation of energy. This leads to canges of the internal structure and also to an increase in mass according to E=mc2. In case of an exited atom (better to say atomic shell) the energy resp. mass increase is very small. An electron needs obviously in comparision with its rest mass very much energy to reach its first exited state.
All particle transformations and interactions are very energy-intensive as we know. On this stage of the development of material matter (nuclei and particles) is energy a structural factor resp. energy determines the properties significant. On the stage of the atoms resp. chemical bonds/molecules the energies are much smaller and less relevant to the changes.
