I am working on CO2 photoreduction. During my work, I am facing a problem with my GC-FID analysis. Some of my analyses are showing a peak shape resembling a hump or a steep decline in the region of interest containing methane (CH₄, retention time ~6.9 min) and carbon monoxide (CO, retention time ~9.5 min). This distorted peak shape makes it difficult to identify and quantify these peaks.

I would be grateful if anyone could suggest potential solutions to improve my GC-FID resolution and achieve better peak separation, particularly for methane and carbon monoxide.
