I believe that the person who violates the ethics of scientific research is not a real researcher, because it is simply based on gathering the efforts of others and using them for his personal benefit without caring about ethics or honesty. I can partially understand why he is involved in it in societies that do not support scientific research, but that is not an excuse for scientific theft or to present his personal interest in the interest of science.
Thank you Jaydip Datta for your link to which the useful personality Traits and Types were explained clearly including videos are added value for the understanding.
The ethics issues we were interested in, went beyond the conventional ethical issues (as integrity, responsibility, honesty, competence) or more philosophical ones (dignity, non-maleficence) and strived away from the IPR issues (confidentiality, justice in incentivation) and addressed concrete situations in which those could or should be applied in a very practical way (examples of situations of a work-life balance, equality in science, establishment of ethically reviewed procedures in financing distribution or promotion etc)...
Establishing personality traits of who violates the ethics of scientific research leads us to perform or build a criminal profile, i.e. the profiling of a criminal. Are we sure what we're looking for? o Do we want for the morbid to seek densmuchion for those who changed the data or improved it in order to publish, receive tributes, recognitions or economic emoluments?
I believe that our societies have regulated social coexistence, research in the same way is regulated, and fundamentally values that are not given by the university or doctorates but those taught at home, such as honesty, punctuality, respect. Fraud, as a crime, includes flogging of the facts, the manufacture of data or plagiarism, if we take this case the criminal profile (profiling) is a mechanism of criminological science that intervenes in the investigation of crime helping location of the offender; is "an estimate of the biographical and lifestyle characteristics of the person responsible for a number of crimes that have not yet been identified. It also includes a prediction about where you live or have your base from where you move to commit the crimes, and what are the likely areas you can re-act in, designed to help the police, generally decreasing the avenues to continue in the tracking crime and targeting police action in certain areas or types of people." I think we go a long way in the quest to profile criminals in scientific research, rather, we should be concerned about training good and better researchers with a proven ethic, that is only achieved with consolidated families and a system of education where the grades to approve subjects are not the ones that make you better human, but the ultimate goal of learning is to be better human by decision and conviction and not by qualifications, distinctions, recognitions.
We must be quick to know that it is ethical behavior in research, to know the different regulations in force, how to do empirical research on respect for ethics in particular investigations. However, three aspects not generally covered in the codes of scientific ethics, it is those that would lead us to a profile of a good researcher: the ethics of the effort to know for better to do; transfer of knowledge for the improvement of the community, and the defense of one's own convictions.
Let us not criminalize scientific research, let us be proactive and value research as the best way to improve the quality of life and peaceful coexistence of human beings. Let's not end up at the ends of visualizing: scientific researcher vs. criminal profile.
Dear Boshra A Arnout , this is example of researchers who have violated th ethics of scientific research. Some of them have closed their RG account, some not. It shows the fact that some of them are people without ethics at all. More than 60% of plagiarism!
Dear Ahmed Abdullah Amanah , link to COPE strategic plan was brought to this htread on February 27th, 2020. See above. Why do you duplicate same resource? If you are not aware of it, please, read previous posts.
