How should we judge theories claiming to have found the foundational structure of space?
Some questions come to mind, but this question is meant to elicit the views of others. Please keep this discussion general and not use it as a platform to promote specific theories.
Is a meaningful foundational structure theory even possible?
Does the theory describe a structure?
Is the source of the theory complete conjecture; or, does it come from some logic?
Does the theory predict testable values with a precision that exceeds currently known values? Does it even need to predict values?
Should the standard for a theory differ depending on whether it was designed to reproduce known values; or, whether known values naturally emerge?
