I am not a member of the forest bubble, or even a professional earth scientist, but I do have a question which I have not seen fully addressed.

Do forests affect the local environment, through transpiration, in the same way that lakes and inland seas do?

For instance does the height of the canopy correspond to the depth of a lake?

Relationship between plantation forests and use of engineered wood in conserving wastage of wood.

The hybridization of a holistic valuation of ecosystem services provided by forests and the preferential weights associated with each ecosystem service by the stakeholders.

So did i get it right? you mean the comparison of the effects of different natural spaces on adjacent areas? For example microclimatic effects?

Why would such a comparison be interesting?

Did I understand correctly? It would be interesting to give all possible ecosystem services of forests a certain value in order to find out what a forest can offer to individual actors or the general public? And to have specific indicators of ecosystem services?

I was thinking of the effects of both equatorial and boreal forests on the hydrological cycle as it affects the global climate under anthropogenic climate change. For instance did the Megachad lake dry out and the Sahara Desert form because early farmers burnt down the forest surrounding it? Will the same thing happen in Brazil when the forest there is cleared to pastures for beef farming, etc?

But perhaps that is already well known. I am not an expert.
