In my b.tech course i solved few civil engineering problems by using c-language. for example calculation of bending moments, matrix multiplecations, hydrographs etc. like wise apart from these simple programs is there any complex programs that we can write by using java programming for civil engineering or structural engineering problesm?

Java or C etc. any language can be used. Please consider graph problems of finding the shortest route for a network of roads.

preferbely java is recommended because it support graphics applications more sophisticated manner, so you can use Java by installing intelliJ idea tool, and prepare algorithm of civil engineering and solved your problem
