I think you mean how far different polymers will get into one another when blended. If they resemble with one another in terms of their functional groups (like polar or nonpolar) and their structure like whether they are linear, branched chain or crosslinked ones which will reflect upon the degree of cohesiveness which you may describe as compatibility.

Hello dear, of course. The compatibilization degree may be infered by IR analysis, since when happend interactions between the components using compatibilizing agent will appear a displacements of the signals regards to those of the control sample (blend without compatibilizer). In the case of the DSC, if you have two crystalline or amorphous polymers, so you will see a displacements of the melting temperature or glass transition temperature respectively.
