I'm searching for the kinematics formulation of finite-strain shell elements in the commercial code Abaqus (Abaqus/Explicit). I have found many articles in literature, but the few words spent in the Abaqus's Theory Guide are barely incomprehensible.
Does anyone know where I can find detailed informations about it?

I have already checked the documentation, and if you take a look at subsection relative to finite-strain shell elements in section 3.6 you can understand my difficulty in understanding what actually Abaqus does when dealing with finite-strain shells.
