This DNA fragment (document attached) comes from which organism? What is the complete strain name that it comes from?. If several organisms with identical sequence are found choose the one where the genome sequence was published in 1998.
What I understand thus far: I think it's Chlamydia trachomatis D/UW-3/CX I've attached a picture of the blastx results. I ended up here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore
I tried to filter the results by release date of 01-01-1998 to 12-31-1998. I got no results!

You got the right paper and the right isolate name. The WP_009871981.1 protein sequence is a "RefSeq" or "GenBank Reference Sequence" so you have to click the link at the top of that entry to find that there are 88 individual entries in GenBank with identical sequence.

GenBank is not really organized to allow BLAST searching or filtering of results of BLAST searches by sequence release date or publication date, as far as I know.
