What is asked for is a rule set for this one particular image and which takes into account the *position* of the red pixels.

I think it must be their former format. They can take differents forms together and occupy differents positions, but must be square, like atoms, they have different form in each material, but the minor part must to be equal each other. But for a set i would say "pixels must be red and square in the image". I'm just guessing.
