I am trying to simulate FOC of Induction motor with SVPWM using MATLAB simulink. It is working accurately in the motoring mode but in generating mode, there are notches of small magnitude at the regular interval. What are the possible reasons and correcting action to rectify this problem?
Have you tried decreasing the maximum sample time interval? Usually, it improves responses.
Sir, I have reduced the sample time to very small value (2e-08) but the same problem is continued . Here, I have attached my model can you please look in to it for the mistake Kris Scicluna
I get notches with following settings
(1) Sample Time (Ts) = 2e-05 and i have also tried Ts = 2e-08
(2) Solver = Fixed step (ode 4 Runge-Kutta)
and i have also attached the snaps of the results with motoring mode and generating mode (Negetive speed)
and
i have also attached the MATLAB simulink model please look in to it if possible because i have tried so much but i can not rectify the mistake or error Kris Scicluna
Unfortunately it seems to be a quite a cumbersome problem.
I would recommend the following steps:
- Recheck the modelling equations
- Recheck the tuning of the PI controllers
- I would start with a continuous time domain simulation, before introducing discrete blocks. Mixing continuous and discrete tends to be a bit problematic in Simulink.
It would be interesting if you could follow up these steps and get back to us.

Sir , I have tried all the steps recommended by you. But only one improvement is there
now under no load condition generating mode (negetive speed) works as per expectation but as soon the load is added the same problem is started
