Fellow researchers,
I am in the market for some DIC software for use with our Instron machines. The Instron DIC Replay software is appealing for reasons of ease of integration but I am yet to hear from anyone with experience of using this particular software.
If anyone is willing to share any experiences I would be very grateful. Positives, negatives, bugs, reliability? Any feedback would be really great.
Including any recommendations on other DIC software they use.

I suggest you check Vic-2D and Vic-3D as well (www.correlatedsolutions.com). The Vic software was developed by the pioneers of DIC at the University of South Carolina, and is widely used in US.
I am aware of the Instron DIC, but have not used/seen it. I therefore cannot comment on Instron DIC. But I am aware that Instron, for long (I believe even now), had tie-up with LaVision and used to integrate their system with LaVision DIC. We recently procured a LaVision system (2D) for one of our existing Instron frame, and it is working fine. The integration/configuration is not a problem and we are quite happy with the performance. I have also seen DIC system from Correlated Solutions (previous post) working quite well with Instron system. I therefore belive that there should not be any issues either in integration or in algorithm if you are going for a standard/proven product.
The popular DIC products are from GOM (ARAMIS), LaVision, Correlated Solutions. I have seen all of the above working well with Instron systems. It all depends upon what configuration you want and your budget. The only suggestion that I would give is, make sure that an automated and manual trigger option based on any one channel of the machine is available in the software. Beware of products that sell video extensometers in the name of DIC.
