Not that I know. But again, most of the evidence we have derives from previous studies that "looked" at host-pathogen ecology and evolution under the perspective of a strict one-to-one relationship. Host switch has always been considered rare, specialists are always (and forever) specialists (same with generalist). The SP provides a more comprehensive framework to accommodate the data we have been generating for a long time. I am not familiar with the literature, but I am almost certain that if they are available you will find that, although not recognized by the authors, the data will likely fit well the precepts of the SP.
