Hi all,

I have analyzed my data using factorial analysis, varimax rotation, and used extraction method based on eigenvalues of more than 1. This gave me 3 factors but factor 3 conformed to only 1 variable with cumulative variance explained by 3 factors is 52% . When i fixed the factor number into 2 , it gave me a better distribution of factor loading with both factor 1 and factor 2 conformed to more than 3 variables. However, the cumulative total variance explained has now reduced to of 46%. I am just wondering if it is possible for the data to have only one factor, since the total variance explained is not that high and me myself cannot make sense of the 2 factors.

Need your expert opinion on how do i go about. Thank you in advance.
