I want to know about any training module or step by step guide for doing factor analysis and multivariate analysis. This is required for analysing Geochemical data obtained from Geochemical Mapping using stream sediment samples.
As a beginner in multivariate analysis you need to understand the basic concept of multivariate analysis which involves simultaneous statistical data analysis of environmental samples to identify;
1 - Variations among the variables/parameters analyzed (Principal component analysis [PCA] and Factor analysis [FA])
2 - Identify the variables/parameters that discriminate between or among the samples under consideration (Discriminant analysis [DA]).
3 - Similarities among the samples analyzed based on the observed variables/parameters (Hierarchical cluster analysis [HCA]).
I refer you to the below published articles, and books for understanding of the concept and the statistical analysis using softwares such as JMP, SPSS, STATA, etc.
