The vacuum sensor on the lab's 1990s Labconco freeze dryer is no longer working. ! would appreciate recommendations for an appropriate external vacuum gauge that could be used in line to monitor the vacuum level. Thank you. Maggie Amsler
Margaret, I would contact Labconco and ask if they can supply a replacement. You can message them on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/Labconco/
Otherwise, contact a pressure gauge manufacturer and ask advice about a suitable replacement. The only critical things should be the pressure range and the coupling.
Margaret, although a good suggestion, I doubt that Labconco has replacement parts for something that old. If it's just the transducer that's out, you may be able to find a replacement - check the manual or with Labconco for the specs. If it's a system problem, then an external gauge is warranted. There a literally dozens (or more) options for vacuum gauges. A couple of suggested sources: Kurt J. Lesker: https://www.lesker.com/newweb/pressuremeasurement.cfm or Omega Engineering: https://www.omega.com/en-us/. We use the Lesker 520TC gauge to calibrate our lyophilizers: https://www.lesker.com/newweb/gauges/thermocouple_kjlc_fieldanalysisvacmeter.cfm. Hope this helps.
