Several years ago, I witnessed a strange natural phenomenon during a religious reunion. We would go to the hills with the purpose of praying. Imagine about ten people scattered in a certain area in the woods. We arrived at dawn at these places. Sometimes, after praying for a while, opening the eyes, the whole region around us was fluorescent. This fluorescence was a weak blue and seen in leaves, branches, and even ants. I have always believed it to be a natural phenomenon associated with some kind of decomposition of organic material. However, I believe that some variables need to be explained. First: Does this type of fluorescence actually occur? Fungi? Second: Why was the phenomenon only observed after we arrived? Visual adaptation? Third: Why is the phenomenon always circumscribed to our group? Did our presence (temperature?) activate in any way?
