I am considering the use of Distiller Systematic Review (DSR) Software in my systematic review to save a bit of time on the laborious work of screening and classifying studies. Does anyone have experience with it? Or would suggest an alternative?

I have used both Distiller and Covidence. Both are good although distiller has many more functions. Covidence has the option to try your first review for no cost. It is well worth using one or the other - my group tried to get away without a piece of software like this and regretted it. It will save you hours of work.

, I trialled Distiller SR and Rayyan QCRI as suggested by Isis Kelly Santos and chose Rayyan at the end as I found it more user friendly, pretty intuitive, and free of charge even when you have collaborators. So I can't say much about Distiller, but would sure recommend Rayyan if you are still choosing which tool to use.

You can search databases like PubMed fro within Rayyan, but what I did was that I downloaded all the search results from the databases I used in the suitable format then uploaded them to Rayyan.
The tool also uses AI to show a star rating of the quality of each paper, and you can enter some inclusion and exclusion keywords and the tool will highlight them for you to make the screening quicker and easier.

I am not sure I understand your question. Which data are you referring to? Do you mean extracting the evaluation criteria data from the included articles? (e.g. method, sample,...etc?) - if that's the case then, no, I don't think this is possible in Rayyan... Let me know if you meant something else.

I tried using ryyan but it only allows title and abstract screening. Not enough for my review, unfortunately.

Hi Samuel D'Emanuele , I am not sure as I didn't find it very user-friendly when I tested it... I used the open-source solution Rayyan instead and it worked well for me, I did the full-text check manually though... hope this helps

Mette Elise Tunset it depends on what you want to do. I had tried them both but preferred ryyan. Absolutely more intuitive.
I liked Distiller and found it a huge time saver - I'd never do another review without using some tool to help. Covidence is another one that I have used - also good but with not quite so many functions. I have heard that there are several others out there (perhaps Rynn or Rynd) but I have not used them.
