I understand that B cells mature in the bone marrow and are released as naive B cells, which express BCRs (B cell receptors). They remain inactive until they encounter their specific antigen, at which point they become activated.
If I inject mice with cancer cells and then collect their blood after three weeks, they should already have mature, activated B cells. Since these B cells are already activated, I won’t need to add additional stimulators to induce antibody secretion?
However, I want to culture these cells for at least a week and ensure they continue secreting antibodies during that time. Would they still need activators to keep secreting antibodies?
