It is expected that employees must work in a team or group and help each other. How you consider this philosophy.
Does helping out everyone everywhere but not being getting credited anywhere is a good philosophy ? How to cope with such place and people ?
Do you have any idea of how it may impact the following -
What are Health effects ?
How it effects sustainability ?
Is there any study on growth impacts ?
What about energy and environment ?
How it impacts the ecology and environment ?
How it impacts the local economy ?
To work in team ,it is part of quality and it should be organizational policy as in neonatal resuscitation .Leader who distribute the tasks and members who will do their parts.

just be hero and help others with they need , it might be Ok in emergency situations and you will not jeopardize your assigned work .Getting credit is important and it is responsibility of the organisation to encourage those who provided voluntary work and cooperate to improve the work
It depends on what counts as "helping." It might be my duty as defined in my job description to do a certain work, and people could still say "thanks for helping with this" to me. It might be that a certain task is not my duty or obligation as defined in my job description, but conventionally everyone of the same profession "helps" with such work. It might also be that I am just doing a favor to my friend, that I strictly "help" my friend because my friend asked me to do it, with or without pay.
So if you are talking about a team, I think you are thinking of the first and the second kind of "help", and we all intuitively know what counts as a fair request for "help" and what does not. It is not fair if you sacrifice some other who deserves a career just as you do to "help" with your work. In that case, you are just being an ass.
It is a convention for students to "help" their professors with everything possible. It is not a convention that professors sacrifice their students' career and pretend that their students are just willing to "help." I think such a subtle common sense should not be difficult to understand for most mature adults.

I think people do, in time, recognise the individuals who are both very worthwhile for the work they do and the knowledge that they pass to others. I don't think it is unwritten; these individuals develop 'a good name' for themselves and it can even help when needing a reference.
Looking back, I can recall these team members.

Yes, the medical personals require an extra commitment towards the work, which most of the times considered as obvious.
But the big questions is....when they will get credit for all those works ?

You are perfectly right in pointing out the customs of a research group. I guess, there are always some researchers who used to get favored by the professor and few get neglected.

Of course god is like that only, but in my experience I have come across many people of such personality that they only do their work and never expect any credit for that. Even others sometimes fight to get credit for very small contributions but the great souls never look back. Such is the beautiful heart they have!
