As I have received a research project from the Worldwide Fund (WWF) to
Evaluating the fertilizer use efficiency of DAP and SSP on the Cotton crop.
can you please guide me about the layout design and what will be the method to apply to get the better results
An efficient design for Field experiments is a Randomized Complete Block Design. Means you will run two separate experiments : for DAP and for SSP in a factorial arrangement, where you have more than two varieties of cotton.
DAP is better than SSP for cotton crop for same unit area(one hectare).
e.g. 67 kg DAP +105 Kg Urea =188 SSP + 130 kg Urea

Hi, you requiere a Randomized Complete Block Design. but the number of treatment will determined considerig what you want to try, just 2 fertilizer, what about genetic, irrigation, management???? no problem to help you
Experimental Design:
The experimental design to be followed for field experiment is factorial experiment (Two factor: DAP and SSP fertilizer). These fertilizers can be applied with the dose of (1). Absolute control (2). 50 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton (3). 75 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton (4). 100 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton (5). 125 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton. 6). 150 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton. 7). 200 % of recommended dose of fertilizer for cotton. The replication should be 3.
Fertilizer use efficiency:
From the observations of yield and nutrient uptake and quantity of nutrients applied, the fertilizer use efficiency can be calculated.
Application of fertilizer to a particular plant age must be based from the nutrient deficiency of the soil. So, It needs to evaluate or test first the soil to really know what particular nutrient is/are deficient of the soil.
