Eucalyptus crown breakage theories

Why wood some Eucalypt species, or crosses, have more crown breakage than others, even though the density profiles are similar?

Crown breakage on "normal sites", but also more top breaks on windy sites.

Thinking E. grandis vs E. urophylla (hybrids) as an example.
