I'm doing electrochemical analysis with modified graphite felt as the working electrode and Fe(CN) as the electrolyte. In my CV plot, △Ep became larger, but Ipc/Ipa became close to 1. Is it possible to become less electrochemical active and more reversible at the same time?
The change in △Ep depends on the ohmic drop in the electrochemical cell, so when using lower scan rate you will observe that △Ep decreases, i.e., you should normally observe an increase in peak separation as the scan rate increases. On the other hand, I recommend you to keep in mind that if you do not change the range of potentials in which you record the voltammograms, sometimes the peak separation introduces an error in the estimation of the peak current because the baseline is lost. Something important, to speak of reversibility only by the relationship between the peak currents is a bit risky, in general I think you should take into account several criteria obtained from the voltammograms.
