I am looking for a defined volume range, e.g., from ? veh to ? veh is considered as low/medium/high. I conducted a literature review, but I don't find any of the works do this.

We often see entry vs circulating flow graphs in research evaluating the capacity of roundabouts. I am thinking to modify this diagram to quantify the entry and circulating flows, due to very limited research quantifying these flows.

The attached figure shows the modified diagram:

(1) Scale of 1:1 to define the boundary. For example, on an x-axis, flow below 700 vehicles per hour (vph) is considered as "low" and above as "high". The same for the y-axis.

(2) 1400 vph is chosen as the maximum as the highest volume obtained from the field is 1240 vph

Since none of the work did this before, the modified diagram is kind of new. Thus I am unsure whether it works or not. Can anyone please advise?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

bong
