I am looking at the impact of sharing emotions with others. Previous research has shown when individuals share their emotion, sad ones, in particular, they feel better. Now, there is another view saying that when individuals share sad emotion, they become, somehow, committed to their this type of emotion. For example, when someone tells others that he is upset or angry with someone, he remains the same for a long time. I have tried to find some literature explaining this view but could not choose the right keywords to search for. Could you please refer me to some references explaining this view.
