To remove inorganic impurities, Water is used in the cleaning process of ITO/FTO substrates for Solar Cell Applications. I read some literature which says that the Indium and Florine get dissolved in the water during such cleaning and leave the TCO surface deficient of the dopant. Now I want to know the exact situation at the TCO surface and results of such phenomenon on the device efficiency along with the references. Shall we leave the water usage or the lost amount of dopant don't have a significant effect on the device performance. Thanks
