I am harmonizing some values for a study that I am conducting to compare the Carbon footprint of leafy greens in urban farming. Now, for comparison, I have a problem regarding some FUs reported in previous studies. In some studies, I can see the FUs have been selected as 1kg dry plant, 1kg fresh plant, or 1kg edible portion of the plant. Is it possible to give me some advice about how to normalize the values for 1kg fresh product (as the most commonly used FU)?
It would be nice if I can understand what is accounted for as the average dry content of 1kg fresh plant and what percentage of the plant could be considered as the edible portion.
I appreciate any help or advice from my colleagues in the research community!
