There are really extensive and very informative literature on the post-feminist debate. You made references to some of them. But what is your own view?

In addition, all these literature mostly show that scholars and activists are divided in opinion between those who believe feminism can never be displaced since the social factors that generated feminism are still operative in society and those who believe feminism has achieved its objective in creating much needed awareness about the exploitation of women and for galvanizing gender equality and thus a postfeminist era is around the corner.

However, this deep-seated division in opinion among scholars and activists does not clear the question whether or not there can evolve another conceptual framework beyond feminism just as feminism emerged at a point in history beyond patriarchy and what might this new conceptual framework be?

I think you may well be starting from a set of assumptions about the linear development of thought that is a version of the modernist idea that the present supersedes the past - itself a subject of contention. What type of feminism do you embrace as "feminism", because there were different "waves" and varieties, and feminism showed different elements of divergence when encountering different disciplines - feminist art, for example, feminist politics, feminist sociology, or feminist philosophy. The question then is "which feminism" or which mix makes up your apparent homogeneous whole? And patriarchy is a system of sociocultural organization that is not the direct opposite of such "feminism" but its main, often only, target. It certainly continues to exist and remains a real problem in much of the world as you suggest. Does this mean more of the same feminism is necessary or new (post, post-post) feminism are required? This tends to reduce feminist though to its tools (and some of these have been major contributions to change, such as the approach to language). It also simplifies patriarchy, which has proved to be more slippery and resilient in practice than anticipated (even if "backlash" responses have often been crude). The arguments in postfeminism rasess assumptions about the social nature of gender, and the role of the body, and the moralities and even methods involved in seeking ethical and affective approaches to power, knowledge and change. So you find ungendering and degendering approaches that seek to dissolve binaries. This, of course, threatens the dialectical approaches that are enacted in much feminist critique. I'm not sure whether you rather linear approach is evutionary or dialectical, or non (post) dialectical, but if you dug into this a little more perhaps your question might be framed differently - or become a different question.

Not really that I have a linear evolutionary conception of the development of thought (I rather believe in the spiral nature of time and space and I'm working on a spiral theory of everything [STOE] as my contribution to the search for the elusive theory of everything [TOE] in physics). On the contrary, why I phrased the question in that linear form was in reference to the fact that feminism emerged into the public space of debates and activism only at a point in history with each new "wave" emerging from the previous notwithstanding the fact that feminist consciousness has always existed in parts of the world from ancient times all the while that patriarchy held a firm grip on sociocultural attitudes and conceptions of sex (biological functions) and gender (cultural roles). In this regard, earlier, there was patriarchy and today there is feminism and then the question: can there be something else after feminism?

"Something else after feminism" is not totally reducible to "postfeminism" because postfeminism still retains fingerprints of feminism and cannot be totally cut off from feminism. In addition, there are strong arguments highlighting the fact that feminism is multiple and also not homogenous, which explains why feminists do not even agree among themselves on a whole range of topical issues as can be clearly seen for instance between many feminists of African descent ("Third Wave" feminism) and many of their white counterparts ("Second Wave" feminism).

Will there ever be a time when feminism (with all its many faces and internal conflicts) will be displaced by a new theoretical framework of gender discourse or have we already arrived at the peak with feminism? Maybe, this is a better re-phrasing of the question.
