When determining the stiffness and damping coefficients for a journal or thrust bearings/seals with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, the typical consideration from the literature is to consider the radial perturbation for journal bearings/seals and axial perturbation for thrust bearings/seals, there are few papers about the angular perturbation (due to tilting motion) for journal and thrust bearings/seals. My questions are:

Why don't the moment stiffness and damping coefficients be considered?

Are moment stiffness and damping coefficients excitation frequency-dependent as well?

Thanks in advance,

Kan
