Hi all,

I have a question regarding my results of a DSC measurement of epsilon-caprolactam (see picture attached).

Regarding to the technical datasheet, the melting point matches quite good the 69°C. The MSDS says that the boiling range is around 260°C, so I can understand that the second heating leads to less enthalpy of melting due to some sublimation in the first heating.

But I can't explain the exothermic peak at 180°C. What could it be? The material has 99,9% purity.

Thanks a lot in advance!
