Hi all,

We are planning to measure microclimates in urban verus rural forest fragments, with a focus on the microclimate inside tree holes. I am currently considering the iButton DS1923-F5 temperature and humidity loggers, but have heard contrasting stories about their reliability (compared to temperature only loggers). Whereas some find them to be 'quite durable' other have told me they tend to fail easily (e.g. because a drop of water forms or falls on the sensor), and that they need to be protected against rain, dust, etc.

I'd love to hear any recommendations about necessary precautions and hardiness of these loggers.

Thanks in advance,

Diederik
