Hi,
As structural engineers, we've always dreamt of a MAGICAL FLOATING LATERAL SUPPORT that can help us relieve high straining actions on our tall buildings due to lateral loads. But we quickly forget about it as it is IMPOSSIBLE (in normal sense)
Today, I am thinking out of the BOX and trying to OPEN for my fellow researchers an INNOVATIVE idea and line of research on using FLYING DRONES as LATERAL supports during extreme loading events.
We've also seen drones used to lift very heavy objects when used in groups. Can this be used in future to quickly activated once High wind loads or a strong earthquake is detected ? This can be used as a AIR-DAMPER that is powered by electric generators to be sure it is always functioning when needed.
I am open for the discussion and for including me in any research related to this NEW IDEA that I am proposing to evaluate the possible damping forces and its effect on the structural performance of tall buildings including a statistical reliability study for the reduction of CODE load factors in such cases.
