In my model i have to use Combin39 element in ANSYS APDL but i have doubt in element co-ordinate system(ESYS). from the reference manual ESYS is as shown above. but i have to rotate my ESYS such that it is same as global cylindrical system. i am using 3D spring which has to absorb force in x - direction according to CSYS,1. below i show you my model. i have question if my ESYS ( in red) is set like this and i model my spring as 3D spring. in deformed position as shown in fig top spring should have some force value ( because of stiffness) and bottom spring not as it is in tension. and in my model it is not happening. i do not get any force in any of spring in this loading condition. when load is in negative Z (push) bottom spring should have force and top spring not which is reflected in model.

can anyone tell me why this is the case because the geometry of element? because element length is in y direction according to ESYS and in my model element length is in x direction. can this be a reason?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.
