Can anyone give me the chemical formula of trimethyl stearyl ammonium ? Does it have hydroxyl group ? It is a quaternary ammonium but does stearyl group indicate that it has an hydroxyl group.
No hydroxyl group .

Hi. It does'nt have any hydroxyl group. It's a cationic surfactant with molecular formula of C21H46ClN (chloride salt, cas number : 112-03-8)
Where does the hydroxyl group come from if the compound formula is C21H46ClN
