Does the cryoprotectant percentage increase above certain limit increases the nanoparticles size rather than preserves it?

The cryoprotectant nature, concentration and type has a critical effect on the nanoparticle size. Many times even the most optimised concentration of cryoprotectant has been found to increase the size of nanoparticle after complete process completion. For example, in case of free-dried nanosuspensions leading to nanocrystals have shown an increase in the size of nanoparticle before and after drying.
