I recently run into an article about the new curriculum mentioned in the link.

From what I see, young generation gains education as accidental learning from what they learn on social networks, youtube, online communities, by playing with tablets and phones. Compared to this, I suspect the effect of the intentional school learning on the field of computer science is negligible, but I don't want to make unsupported counter claims here.

Is it just a social experiment based on opinions of some influential "experts", or are there any hard data, any thesis or scienticic research supporting the reasons for each point of the curriculum and methodology how to measure and evaluate the effect? From what I see there are just vague statements like high quality education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world.
