I have an oil in water emulsion in which more oil is dispersed in less amount of water, the oil is viscous in nature. the emulsion seems stable when kept in tubes while it the same seems unstable when stored in beakers. how is this possible?
In my mind, the stability of the emulsion has to do with the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the wall of the beakers or tubes. Maybe you should confirm the vessels completely neat.
Plz check whether beaker is reacting with the emulsion and also the storage conditions. If they are stored in different conditions then it will have its effect on the stability of emulsion
