I am working on HER nanocatalysts, i have synthesized the catalyst with various temperatures. after we did BET analysis. it shows each sample has various range of size and pore volume. can we correlate this data with the electrochemical performance of the catalyst?.
Please clarify this for me....

Yes, the size of nanoparticles can affect the catalytic performance in electrochemical analysis. According to a study on Cu NP catalysts in the 2–15 nm mean size range, their catalytic activity and selectivity during CO2 electroreduction were analyzed and compared to a bulk Cu electrode. The study found that the particle size affects the catalytic activity and selectivity during CO2 electroreduction (Insights of enhanced oxygen evolution.....). Another study on CoFe2O4 nanocubes found that they offer better O2 evolution activity in terms of current density, lower onset potential and overpotential compared to nanoparticles. The low Tafel slope value of CoFe2O4 nanocube confirms the faster kinetics compared to CoFe2O4 nanoparticles (Structure-catalytic functionality.....).
Therefore, it is possible that the size of your synthesized catalysts could affect their electrochemical performance. However, more research is needed to determine the exact relationship between particle size and electrochemical performance for your specific catalysts.

as of now, I did fundamental electrochemical studies like CV and LSV. I calculated onset potential, overpotential, and Tafel slope.
Can I choose the high-performing catalyst by considering overpotential and Tafel slope alone?
or should I conduct any other electrochemical studies?

The catalyst lowers the Gibbs activation energy of the reaction and therefore increases the rate of the reaction.
The Tafel slope is how much you have to increase the overpotencial to increase the reaction rate by a factor of ten (dec). When you change your potential by 1 volt, the Gibbs activation energy of the reaction will change by 1 eV per electron transferred, but the activation energy will only change by a fraction of that, and that fraction determines the Tafel slope.
You can choose the high-performing catalyst by considering overpotential and Tafel slope alone.
