Does random walk proposes give the same results with Page rank for ranking purposes of nodes (entities)?

I aim to use random walk for ranking of some instances in my dataset by mapping a graph from similarity matrix. On the other hand, I also think that in some way random walk gives the same results as Page rank if the walks converges infinity. Do you think this bias is true?

so I understand that random walk mimics the distribution obtained by pagerank. why then people still using random walk techniques? is there any novel information obtained by random walk?
