Does politics influence the Chancellor, President, and Rector nominations at the State University? Does the government's nomination requirements include the scholar's experience or scientific output?
Since it is a State University, my point of view is that the answer is yes. Simply because a State University is a public institution like others. Will love to hear opinions from others.
Simply the answer is yes, but it is depends on the political culture of the country. In many countries politics indirectly influence the selection of vice chancellor and provice Chancellor. But there is no scope of direct interference; interference of politics happen indirectly.
