Try 6÷2(1+2). A pre-1992 caculation will give 1. After 1992 gives 9.
What changed in 1992? IMO computers are teaching us math. Math has to be experimentally valid. Old PEMDAS is not valid.
Complex numbers do not exist.
Computers use only {0,1} and can calculate reactive current.
Irrational numbers would have infinite information. Not physically.
Math is also quantum. The sets R=C=Q.
Enough imagination without reality.
What's your qualified opinion?
I am currently writing a paper with the working title "A new approach to the usage of numbers in natural sciences" The core issue is that only natural numbers (1,2,3,4...) or integers are allowed in the natural sciences to describe physical quantities.
So my answer is: only natural numbers / integers are needed and allowed to describe nature.
