I am looking to produce maximal random packings using a Lubachevsky-Stillinger algorithm or variant. I don't see any provided fixes in LAMMPS for "growing" particles. I presume the alternative is to initialize a domain with particles of the final diameters and contract the domain until maximal packing is reached. However for other reasons not mentioned here, I'd prefer to have the particles "grow". Is this possible?
From my current interpretation of "growing" particles, you can always increase the effective particle size by increasing the particle diameter in the potential that you're applying using a "for" loop (variable loop -> jump method). You can tune the number of steps you want to attain the desired particle size in depending on how unstable your initialized configuration is.
