The conduct of the World Health Organization has sparked much controversy within Western Countries. Many believe, firstly, that he alerted the world of danger with guilty delay and secondly that he turned his concerns towards less affected states while in Europe and the USA the pandemic was causing thousands of victims. Some funding country decided to drastically reduce the funds directed to the organization. After the COVID-19 pandemic, will it still make sense for Western Countries to be part of this type of organization? Will WHO need to be reformed or replaced by a new and more efficient structure? Does it make sense that, as many claim, the conduct of an organization that should protect global health responds to purely political logic?
The main objective of the WHO should be "the achievement by all peoples of the highest possible level of health". Consequently, the WHO declares itself as the responsible of international public health. Its current priorities include the surveillance of various diseases (mainly infectious disorders, such as malaria and tuberculosis, Ebola, or HIV/AIDS), heart disease and cancer; and many others global health problems.
Overall, the WHO has demonstrated in the past a leading role in several public health achievements, such as the eradication of smallpox / polio, and the development of an Ebola vaccine.
I personally believe that nobody is infallible.
A famous Italian entrepreneur said 'even things done well can be done better' ..... consequently for those who act badly the chances of redemption are very wide ..
I am from a developing south east asian country Sri Lanka. My personal belief is western countries like USA acted irresponsibly compared to ours. Our auhtorities acted responsibly to control the pandemic taking expert advices. But still there were some mistakes. However, as a country so far we are doing good. I think without putting a blame to an organization or a particular person western countries should act reaponsibly. This is my personal view.

I do not think the actions of WHO affected much of the things happened during this pandemic. Irresponsible behaviours of governments and ignorance of people played a huge role. If countries like ours could manage it with less facilities and resources western countries could done it better than us. It is all about how you face the global challenge in a positive way. Again this is my personal idea.
