Validity and reliability of questionnaire as a tool for data collection is very important. The question is about the perception or experience of health care/ medical researchers that to what extent they actually follow the process during a research based on questionnaire.
AS far ASCO I’m concerned all the researchers have to do it and in the areas that l know they follow the rules
Hi Muhammad, this is a very important question. From experience, all institution academic or research has ethical standard that help them put reliability and validity in check. However, I noticed in more advance or rather developed countries they take this ethical standards and rules very seriously and if found delivering false questionnaires, is punishable with severe consequences. On the other hand in Africa to be specific (Nigeria) there are still rules but its so difficult to get things done the right way for so many reasons including funding, security measure and access. Imagine giving out questionnaires to women in river-line areas were there is no road leading to the village rather you pass through a stream with snakes and no river guards. The researcher will probably fill out the questionnaires himself and use it as he pleases after all, we don't except him to spend his money and risk his life for a research he probably delivers and end up unemployed for the next 4 years. Situations in Africa can really limit the authenticity and reliability of some research findings.

Any one else who can comment on the issue. Actually in the institutes with established rules, regulations and norms. It would be difficulty for the researcher to by pass the process. How ever i am interested to get answer for the developing countries or institutes where research is in evolving phase. I am planning a research about the issue, Your comments will help me to move forward
